Pentru cei care folosesc sistemele de operare linux sau pentru administratorii de servere web, verificarea datelor de inregistrare a unui IP sau a unui domeniu de Internet, este ceva la ordinea zilei.
jWhois este un tool care poate fi instalat foarte simplu si cu ajutorul caruia puteti cere informatii legate de datele de inregistrare, nameservere, direct din SSH.
Instalare jWhois pe Fedora / RHEL / Redhat / CentOS / Scientific Linux, din SSH.
1. dupa ce va logati cu root pe server, urmatoarea linie de comanda va instala jWhois-ul.
# yum -y install jwhois
Dupa finalizarea instalarii folositi comanda “whois nume-domeniu.com” eller “whois IP” pentru a verifica instalarea.
ex: whois google.com
whois –help

-n, –no-redirect disable content redirection
-s, –no-whoisservers disable whois-servers.net service support
-a, –raw disable reformatting of the query
-i, –display-redirections display all redirects instead of hiding them
-p PORT, –port=PORT use port number PORT (in conjunction with HOST)
-r, –rwhois force an rwhois query to be made
–rwhois-display=DISPLAY sets the display option in rwhois queries
–rwhois-limit=LIMIT sets the maximum number of matches to return
