In urma cu ceva ani bantuia pe unele posturi de radio o melodie autohtona, din care am retinut doua versuri: “muri-ti-ar capra” si “ti-a murit capra” (daca vreti sa dati un search dupa ea, cantatorul este Daniel Iancu). Cand am aflat de caprele Google-ului, gandul mi-a fugit (ba chiar a galopat) fix la melodia asta. Daca aveti impresia ca am chef de glume, asa e. Dar un lucru este sigur: Google-ul are capre. Pe bune.
At our Mountain View headquarters, we have some fields that we need to mow occasionally to clear weeds and brush to reduce fire hazard. This spring we decided to take a low-carbon approach: Instead of using noisy mowers that run on gasoline and pollute the air, we’ve rented some goats from California Grazing to do the job for us (we’re not “kidding”). A herder brings about 200 goats and they spend roughly a week with us at Google, eating the grass and fertilizing at the same time. The goats are herded with the help of Jen, a border collie. It costs us about the same as mowing, and goats are a lot cuter to watch than lawn mowers.
Portanto, Google goes green ou Google goes goating… tot pe acolo (GGG!). Ma intreb daca alte mari companii ii vor urma exemplul. Ar insemna probabil si ca trasura cu cai (sau mai degraba caruta) va reveni la moda, asta daca nu ne trezim si cu impozite pe hodorogit si nechezat.
Si totusi, intorcandu-ne in prezent… GGG! (sau good game, Google…) :P.
O. LOL!! Datorita unor comentarii acide cu privire la caprele Google-ului (comentarii despre cum Google are sau nu are grija de caprele lui), Google a raspuns destul de prompt:
Google takes the wellness of our employees very seriously and we pride ourselves on having a responsive and adaptable culture. The lawn-mowing goats are not, of course, full-time Google employees – but we would certainly respond directly to any concerns about their treatment. I can confirm that during their time in Mountain View, like other Google employees, each goat is entitled to a free organic lunch.
Ma intreb ce s-ar fi facut caprele daca ar fi trebuit sa isi plateasca mesele organice. Dar nu ma intreb cat dureaza pranzul lor. Cel mai probabil, o saptamana. :))
