The US T-Mobile users can enjoy until July this year of free Starlink connectivity on the iPhone, through Elon Musk's satellite network.
T-Mobile has announced the launch in Beta Public of a Starink satellite communication function, allowing anyone in the United States to test it.
This test period will be free until July, giving users enough time to experience the new service. This feature will allow compatible iPhone devices to use satellite connection services even in traditional cell -free areas.
This service should not be confused with that of Starlink through which users can have internet connection from wherever they are, even from 4G/5G signal areas. It is about Direct-To-Cell technology, which only allows for sending text messages.
“T-Mobile Starlink uses specially configured satellites, equipped with direct-to-cel technology, which orbits at over 320 km altitude and moves over 27,000 km/h. They transmit mobile signal – Currently for text messages, following messages with images, data and voice calls to be available later-to and from locations where mobile towers have no coverage (so-called dead signal areas).”
This beta program, Starlink on the iPhone, launched by T-Mobile is available for Go5g Next plan subscribers (including variants like Go5g Next 55+), as well as for business customers using Go5g Business Next. In addition, those who register during the testing period can benefit from a reduction of $ 10/month, which means an economy of 33% compared to the entire price. However, in order to take advantage of this offer, the registration must be done by the end of February.
