Ideas Rasar at Google Like the mushrooms after the rain: if you expect another product of the famous company, be it as a myth, well it has not delayed. In a written article yesterday on The official Google blog, has been announced Launch of a shortening service of the URLs appointed Google URL Shortner or, more short, goo.gl.
Lately, such services have become increasingly popular due to the intense use of networks micro-blogging (ex. Twitter) for which the short URLs, we could say, are vital. Momentary, goo.gl will only be available for those who use two other Google services, Google Toolbar and FeedBurner, thus making it easier and faster Sharing of links, and in terms of benefits, Google listed three: stability, speed and security.
* Stability: Google’s scalable, multi-datacenter infrastructure provides great uptime and a reliable service to our users.
* Security: As we do with web search, shortened URLs are automatically checked to detect sites that may be malicious and warn users when the short URL resolves to such sites.
* Speed: At Google we like fast products and we’ve worked hard to ensure this service is quick. We’ll continue to iterate and improve the speed of Google Url Shortener.
So, if you are subscribed feedburner or Google Toolbar, you can try the new URL shortening service goo.gl. If you do not use these Google services (and so you won't be interested in Google Url Shortner), it's ok. Maybe tomorrow or Poimane (or next month ...) a product will be released (Google, of course) to capture your attention. Bet? :)
