Bye-bye Flock: Zynga trage cortina peste The Social Web Browser
At the beginning of 2008, AOL they announced as much as possible to resign cessation of support for the Netscape browser, recommending users to port to Flock or Firefox. 3 years and almost 2 months later, more precisely a few days ago, those from Zynga they announced that will stop support for Flock social browser (which they bought at the beginning of the year) on April 26, 2011. That is, in a week.

The official announcement on flock.com sounds like this:
Support for Flock browsers will be discontinued as of April 26th, 2011. We would like to thank our loyal users around the world for their support, and we encourage the Flock community to migrate in the coming weeks to one of the recommended web browsers listed below.
browsers towards which the users are directed by those who decided the fate of the social browser, are - obviously – the browsers that were (and still are) the basis of Flock:
Since no further security updates will be provided to keep you safe on the web, we encourage all Flock users to upgrade to one of the two browsers listed below. Both are based on the same reliable technologies as Flock, and both are being actively maintained and improved. Also, each of the following browsers has a broad selection of add-ons and extensions to customize and extend their capabilities.
- Mozilla Firefox (motor for Flock 2.x)
- Chrome (motor for Flock 3)
Why does it end? the story Flock? It seems that there were some "misunderstandings" with Mafia Wars and with FarmVille…
The Flock team joined Zynga in January, 2011 and is now working to assist Zynga in achieving their goal of building the most fun, social games available to anyone, anytime — on any platform.
For the curious, you can find other details here.
Use: I have no idea for how many users Stealth Settings does this announcement have any importance, but for me it is very bad news, and this is because for almost 3 years Flock era my default browser. It didn't excel in speed, I didn't give in to the wind even after the quick access to everything Social network I could have imagined it and I didn't even use it the option to publish on the blog directly from the browser. Instead, I feel that I will miss him quite a lot sidebar-ul Feeds, a feature that is either treated superficially by some browsers, or presents something be mark Microsoft or addons are needed to resuscitate him. Too bad.
