If you are used to that Windows Live Writer-ul on auto salvage the posts you write every few minutes (depending on SETTINGS to each user), and you recently decided to re-profile yourself on Windows Live Writer 4 Beta, definitely among the first things you noticed about it is total lack of auto-save option.

Total nonsense (my personal opinion is like WLW 4 beta it is totally crazy, despite some new features that catch the "eyes" at first sight, firstly because I got used to having everything at hand and not looking for the various functions among the tabs - although I suspect that I could get used to it at some point - and secondly the uninspired appearance, similar to Wordthe). I mean, if it didn't make sense to you, it will saved manually the post every 5 minutes, let's say, and WLW decides it's time for a little one crash, your work is a bit lost... Or at least that's what you'll think at the time. Because though Microsoft underestimated the importance of auto-saving the articles being composed, it seems that he still thought about less happy scenarios (which involve at least a small "crash") and equipped the WLW with another "saving" feature that allows users to retrieve unsaved items when it is not properly closed or when it "cracks". I mean, right after error/crash or whatever, when you open Windows Live Writer 4 the following dialog will appear:

Click on Recover changes now (recomanded) and all your work will be saved.
Windows Live Writer 3 it is not equipped with such a feature, but you won't have any problem if you use the autosave. If you don't use it (why?) then you still have a chance, in case of a crash, to recover your unsaved stations from the folder C:Users[user]AppDataLocalTempWindowsLiveWriter-429641856 (remember that the number in the name of this folder differs from system to system). Search among subfolders contains the file index.htm, file where they are stored temporary all unsaved posts from Windows Live Writer (the chances of recovery are 99,5%).

And after you recover your posts, maybe the idea will come to you enable autosave (recommended to set it to autosave every 1 minute).
