Last days I tried to install Windows XP SP2 on one laptop Toshiba that I bought with Windows Vista Home Pre-Installed Premium.
I followed the usual steps to install a Windows XP system and everything went normal to a Puck… or…to a Blue Screen ..
Ok… I repeated The installation process with another CD I had a picture with Windows XP. I thought it was an error of hardware And I thought it was a problem with the CD I wrote the copy of Windows. False.
The Blue Screen above appears on desktop systems and laptops that have HDDthe "new generation" and for which the Windows XP operating system It is not compatible. It has nothing to do with the fact that that laptop came with Windows Vista pre-Installed.
Solving Blue Screen error when installing Windows XP on a Windows Vista Vista system:
1. Restore the system and enter into BIOS. (After Restart, press the F2, Del or ESC key to enter the BIOS. This key differs from one system to another). Those who have Toshiba A300 1QE laptops, have to press the F2 key to enter BIOS.
2. After entering the bios, go to the tab Advanced -> navigate with "arrow-down"Until the option SATA Controller Mode.
3. If you press Enter on the SATA Controller Mode, you will notice that in the menu that opens you have two options: Ahci and Compatibility. set SATA Controller Mode: Compatibility and save the settings before leaving the bios (F10 – Save and Exit).
After you finish step 3. Resume the installation of Windowsxp.
We hit this problem on a Toshiba Satellite A300 1qe laptop, and the above tutorial has given results;)
