Unlike other internet browsers popular such as Firefox, Chrome or Opera, Internet Explorer is used by users who do not care about browser update to the newest version. As a result, though Internet Explorer 11 it has been released for several months, there are still enough users who use it IE 8, IE 9 and IE 10, all these versions being still supported by Microsoft (IE 8 was released with Windows 7 in 2009, the users of this operating system being able to install newer versions of this browser, including IE 11, manual or via Windows Update).
But it seems that Microsoft is no longer satisfied with this situation, announcing in a press release published today that it will discontinues support for versions 8, 9 and 10 of the Internet Explorer browser starting with the date of January 12, 2016 (after this time, users of older versions of Internet Explorer 11 they will not receive anymore Security updates or technical support for these).
This announcement triggers a new campaign a Microsoft which tries (again) to convince the users Internet Explorer to use updated versions of the browser (the most popular IE version it was at the beginning of August IE 8, with fish 21% of users), the last campaign of this kind taking place in 2011, when the company tried (and succeeded to some extent) to discourage users from using the version IE 6 (currently, only 3.5 % from users Internet Explorer I still use this version).
