Sterge Recent Items din Jumplist [Windows 7]

Windows 7 OS it came bundled with many new features: some welcome, some necessary, some (somewhat) irritating, etc. Jumplist it is such a characteristic (that is, new) that benefits from a more special status, this being at the same time welcome, necessary and irritating. For example, if you have your own PC to which no one has access (except you, obviously), then Jumplist has no way of becoming irritating, in fact it could be helpful if you want to reopen certain recently used files, not having to look for them through folders and thus saving time.

Likewise, if you use a PC to which several people have access (family, colleagues, etc.) but you limit yourself to opening files that do not arouse suspicion or you know how to cover your back, you can ignore the Jumplist without any problem. But at the moment when your privacy is threatened and certain files that you keep hidden from the eyes of others through some hidden corners of hard-diskului (or on CDs/external drives), but which you open frequently, leave traces through the Jumplist of the application (or applications...) used to open them... well, that could become extremely irritating, and therefore the black ball for Jumplist.

The only solution in such a situation is to periodically delete the compromising items from the Jumplist, preferably every time you leave the computer.

Depending on your preferences, you can choose to delete only certain items (preferably not too many, because they must be deleted individually),

or you can delete all items from the Jumplist (easier and safer) navigating to the folder %APPDATA%MicrosoftWindowsRecentAutomaticDestinations (copy/paste in Windows Explorer).

recent_items

You can also delete Recent Items from the Jumplist by giving the following command in Command Prompt (Run as Administrator):

del %appdata%microsoftwindowsrecentautomaticdestinations*

del jump list
