After more than 15 years of the initial release, media player-ul Winamp it will close in less than a month, on December 20, 2013. At the end of years ‘90 and in the first half of I declined 2000-2010, Wimm-ul was the most popular media player for Windows operating systems (especially for Windows XP, with whom he made history), in 2007 still reporting over 90 million users in all the world.

AOL, who bought Wimm-ul (or rather Nullsoft-ul, with everything with Winamp) in 1999 for $80 million, gave none explanation clear to close the media player, but only one brief statement published on The official page:
Winamp.com and associated Web services will no longer be available past December 20, 2013. Additionally, Winamp Media players will no longer be available for download. Please download the latest version before that date. See release notes for latest improvements to this last release. Thanks for supporting the Winamp community for over 15 years.

Despite updates received by software over the years (and in 2010 and 2011 the versions for Android and Mac OSX), its popularity dropped dramatically until 30 million users last year, most likely this being the main reason behind AOL's decision to shut down Winamp.
For those who Wimm-ul it brings back beautiful memories and they don't want to give it up yet, they still have the opportunity download the latest version of Winamp from site-ul oficial of the software until the date of December 21.
