- File Explorer Modern - it is not yet known exactly if it is one Explorer with modern interface, or just by o integrate SkyDrive in the operating system, however the screenshots appeared on the internet about test versions suggests that Microsoft also considered the need for a File Explorer matched with the new one Metro interface

- The option to boot directly into the Desktop – the users Windows Blue they will have the opportunity to skip displaying the Start Screen immediately after starting the system, Microsoft also taking into account the desire of users to be able to choose booting directly into the Desktop (functionality hot corners it will remain accessible even if the option to boot directly into the Desktop is activated)
- Kiosk Mode – offers to users the ability to run a single application, blocking other people's access to the system (a solution for computers running in public places). This can be activated on a standard user account, to which it will be associated Module Kiosk and for which a single application will be chosen that will run when the respective account/user is used

- Multiple Snap feature – in Windows 8.1 users will be able to run up to 4 applications side-by-side (on the same screen), depending on display resolution; also, when running 2 applications next to each other, they will be displayed in proportion 50% / 50%, face of 75% / 25% as is the case in Windows 8
