~ 10 days ago, I was told to buy router wireless. I live at home and I have one desktop + laptop. Always walking my laptop net cable through all the rooms is not exactly fun. There are plenty of options for wireless routers, but to deal with a distance of ~ 15m via 3 walls... it's a bit complicated. Initially I wanted to buy WRT54GL (Linksys). A grandfather router from what people talk about it on the forums, but someone whispered to me that it is an ideal router for an apartment / room (via Sleepy). WRT54GL, failed + because I didn't really have an option to buy it, except through Order online or go all the way to Bucharest. In Buzau, there are no stores that sell Linksys. At the moment.
After I explained to a Flanco employee that I need a wireless router with a range of ~15m and to face 2-3 walls, he recommended an SMC router (SMCWBR14-N2). Well, I bought it and I say that this router makes all the money (~250 RON). Easy to configure, great coverage and good security. Ideal for those who stay at home or for a company with 2-3 offices. Two rooms away from the place where it is installed, I have a wireless signal of 3-4 dashes (out of 5 maximum) and it became friends very quickly with RDS-INFONET (Buzau) :D.
