At Microsoft TechEd North America 2009, Microsoft today announced that Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 will both be available to customers in time for the holiday shopping season.
Although initially it was said that it would wait 3 years after the launch of Windows Vista to launch a new Windows operating system, it can be said that Windows 7 was launched only 2 years after Vista, when the Beta 1 version was made public to millions of testers. A few days ago, the RC was also made public, and now we have confirmation from Microsoft that the final Windows 7 will be released before the shopping season :).
