Adio Netscape Navigator / 1 feb. 2008

The browser was launched by the Netscape company in 1994 under the name of Mosaic Netscape 0.9 , and in 1998 the open-source code of the browser was published, which would soon become the project Mozilla. The company AOL , buys Netscape in 1999 and develops it up to the version 9.0 , the last one appeared in June 2007.

Starting with February 1, 2008 , Netscape (AOL) announces the cessation of the activity for the development / update of the browser Navigator 9 and of the other previously released versions (Netscape v1-v4.x, Netscape v6, Netscape v7 Suite, Netscape Browser v8, Netscape Navigator/Messenger 9). AOL recommends Netscape users to switch to Mozilla Firefox , which basically represents the basis of Netscape Navigator. (many plugins / add-ons for Firefox are compatible on Netscape).
