Specifically, starting with April 8, 2014, Windows XP he won't get any more Security update, the users of this system relying from that date only on antivirus programs installed to protect against virus and other types of malware or of online attacks.

To ensure that users are kept up to date with end of support for Windows XP, Microsoft started to display from March 8 and warning pop-up to remind them of the date from which they will no longer receive security updates for the system.

Also, in that pop-up, which will be displayed every month from now on (most likely to convince users to upgrade to a newer version of Windows), Microsoft also provides a link (called sec learn more) to a page that offers users information about what exactly it represents end of support for Windows XP and, in addition, he advises his followers Upgradeze to a newer operating system or to purchase one PC nou (If configuration the old one is not compatible with Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1).
For those interested upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 (you can still buy copies of this system from Amazon or Ebay) or at Windows 8/8.1, in case you wonder what are the dates until which Microsoft will provide support for these systems, you can find this information on The official page Windows lifecycle fact sheet (Windows 7 SP1 will be supported until 2020, again Windows 8.1 pana in 2013).

With the end of support for Windows XP, Microsoft will also end support for Office 2003. So, also its users suite Office must consider upgrading to a newer suite (preferably Office 2010 or Office 2013, considering that Office 2007 will receive more Security updates only 3 years, the support for this suite ending with the one for Windows Vista).
Note: Users who have disabled automatic system updates will not receive the notification about the end of support for Windows XP (unless they install the respective update, namely KB2934207, manually).
