Microsoft continues to surprise us with new functions prepared for the new operating system Windows 8 which is scheduled to be released in the fall of this year. Windows 8 will have a boot time reduced by almost 50% compared to Windows 7. This is due to a function that represents an original and balanced combination between hibernation and booting. This function saves kernel- in a file on HDD when the operating system is turned off and at start-up the respective file is loaded into memory.
Windows 8 it has a shorter loading time because it loads less data from the HDD at startup. However, we must be realistic and accept that these performances depend overwhelmingly on the hardware configuration on which the operating system is installed and the degree of compatibility between the components.
Very important in obtaining a short loading time of the operating system is the type of HDD used, SSD- the latest generation with high writing/reading speed and a good organization of StartUpand the boot sequence will ensure impressively low loading times.
