With the launch of the operating system Windows Vista, many programs dedicated to Windows XP, Windows 98 / Windows ME, Windows 95, Windows NT (SP 5) and Windows Server 2003 have proven to be incompatible. When we want to launch an application on Vista, it often happens that we are greeted by a error message in the pop-up, which says either that the application cannot be started on the system, or that a file is missing .DLL from the software folder or al system32. It's normal. Windows Vista has a kernel, much modified compared to previous operating systems.
What is to be done? Fortunately, Windows Vista has a compatibility feature to solve this problem. If the program insists on running on Vista, right-click on the executable (.exe) and from the menu that opens, select "Properties". Go to the "Compatibility" tab and there you will find the solution to this problem.

Check the box on the right “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” , select the system for which the application was designed, then press "Apply" and "OK".
