Missing Volume tray icon in Windows Vista
Some users of Windows Vista have the surprise to discover that, for a certain reason, still undiscovered, iconed for Volume FROM System tray, which was in its place when the PC was last used, disappeared without trace.

How the "traditional" restoration variant, ie through Taskbar and Start Menu Properties, has no effect in this case, the solution is about Registry (Before applying this way to restore icons in Tray, it is recommended to perform an backup al registrilor, for any eventuality).

Here's what you need to do because iconita Sound & Volume to appear again in System Tray:
– open Registry Editor (Go to Start If you taste regedit in Instant Search);
– in the menu Edit Select Find, taste IconStreams and click on OK. In a few seconds, two results will appear on the right side of the screen, IconStreams and PastIconStreams. Right click on each of them and then Delete.

A way to get to the faster TrayNotify by Windows Explorer is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareClassesLocal SettingsSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionTrayNotify
After deleting the two inputs in Traynotify, one is required restart of the system, then you will notice that the volume icon will be in its place in System Tray. If this has not happened, go to the start Menu Properties->Notification Area and select the icons you want to have in Tray (this time it will work;)).
