UPC, RDS, Conysat, Romtelecom

Ok. I have to get over my nerves somehow, because today I had the most unpleasant surprise since 2006.

A few days ago I decided to move for a while to my parents (they live at home), somewhere in the center of the city of Buzau. With an online presence of over 18 hours out of 24, my first concern was of course to have access to the internet from the new location and as a result I made a list of Internet service providers in Buzau that I could subscribe to
. I studied the offers online, documented myself well and set off.

The first internet provider I found more advantageous was UPC (former Astral), thinking that mine, if they are UPC TV subscribers, it won't take too long to install and conclude a contract. Arriving at the UPC headquarters, I noticed that they moved their Customer Relations office from the ground floor to the 1st floor. Good. I was guided to the respective office by some “arrows” xeroxed, beautifully hung on the walls of the hallways. If a door opened and there was a little current in the hallway, you had to change your direction following the direction of the indicator arrow (of course… the Holidays are coming and the walls had to be decorated with something). In the end I arrive in front of a door on which it is written “Customer Relationships”. Peep, peep … break. No one answers me and I slowly open the door. In front of me I had an image that reminded me of the queues from the time of the late when people were waiting from 4 in the morning for the cars with meat, eggs, milk (food…it was like that until `89, for those who don't know).

I understood why there were so many people there, especially 3-year-olds. Discounts on subscriptions for pensioners and those with low incomes, explained the landscape. Finally … after more than 20 minutes I start asking someone there if it is possible to have internet at the address …… .

“- I'm waiting to check.”

After 20 minutes of waiting, during which the man had other occupations there and surely did not think that he had to give me an answer, I ask him if he checked, and he answers dryly: “It can't be there”.
I didn't understand why it couldn't be done, but in the end … an extra subscriber was probably uninteresting, especially at home.

laurentiu: but .. from what I understood from a very superficial explanation of someone there
laurentiu: it is not possible to put astral to my people
Eugen: o.0
Eugen: don't you have a compatible TV?

Ok.. phone calls followed…

RDS – “For that area, we can only help you with dial-up through Romtelecom or with optical fiber from $100 and up”. Mda.

ConySat – “At the moment we can't, but if you wait another 2-3 weeks, we can solve it there as well”. No thanks. I do not fast.

Romtelecom: :|

laurentiu: UPC can't give net there, ConySat can't (possibly in 2-3 weeks), RDS can't
Eugen: romtelecom
Eugene: clicknet
Eugen:
laurentiu: clickdraci
laurentiu: give me the offers and phone numbers to call them
Eugen: LOL
Eugen: you go to romtelecom in the center
Eugen: and you go home with net
Eugen: :)
laurentiu: and how is the internet going? … I also walk him around the house …eventual
laurentiu: if I want to make an upload
Eugen: :)
Eugen: if you want to upload, you go up to the antenna on the house
Laurentiu: http://www.clicknet.ro/index.php?sv=5&sc=3&ro=1
laurentiu: look at the interesting rates

It remains to be seen tomorrow if iNES can help me with something. God help!

These are the consequences if you live at home (regardless of the area) and want Internet access .ro .
