Update: The Facebook Chat heads extension in Chrome is no longer up to date. This has been removed from the Google Chrome extension gallery.
One of the major updates received by the mobile application Facebook Messenger it was Chat heads, feature which allows users to receive notifications about new messages and to chat with those who send them messages, even if at that moment they have active (or use) other applications. This feature displays when a new message is received on Facebook a round that displays profile picture of the contact who sent the message, and to view the message and reply to it, the user only has to tap on the respective circle (or chat head).
Although there is a version of the application Facebook Messenger and for desktops (but this is not as versatile as the mobile application), at the moment Chat heads it is only available (officially) for mobile version. If you still want to use it Chat heads for Facebook and on the desktop, we recommend you try it Chrome browser extension, Faces.im.
Faces.im it is very easy to install (like any other Chrome extension, by the way) and simple to use. After installing the extension, you will notice a new one ICON displayed on the right side of address bar of the browser. Click on this to log in Facebook account, then Chat heads They will be activated automatically for the messages you will receive from now on.
Faces.im it will also allow you to access the section of personal messages without logging into your Facebook account separately; all you have to do is click on the icon Faces (langa address bar).
Chat heads activated by the Faces.im extension are identical to those for Mobile application Facebook Messenger. When you receive a message on Facebook, a Chat head with the profile picture of the user who sent the message will be displayed in Chrome. To open the dialog with that contact, click on the chat head, and if you don't want to open the dialog or view the message, move the mouse cursor over the chat head, then click on xthe displayed.
If you want to temporarily disable Chat heads, you can do this quite simply by clicking on the icon Faces, then using switch-ul displayed to the right of Chat Bubbles, in the upper-right corner of the personal messages window.
