launching Windows 8 came to the package with many surprises, among them being lacking button and start menu, as well as the lack of feature Aero Glass. Although in update-ul Windows 8.1 Microsoft partially took into account users' wish (eg, the start button has been rentrodus, although it does not open an Start menu ci Start Screen-ul with which we got used to Windows 8), Aero Glass Missing further (the only functionality available from this feature being the one Aero Peek).
For Windows 8 there are only two Applications available with which users can reactiva Aero Glass and the system (Aero Glass for Windows 8 and WinAeroGlass, the latter allowing reactivation of the Aero feature without the effect of blur), one of them being recently updated to work and for Windows 8.1.
Aero Glass for Windows 8.1 reactivated transparenta Aero Glass in the latest version of Windows. Plus it comes to the package and with the effect of glow, as well as with rounded corners for windows.
Considering that Windows 8.1 has not yet been officially launched, the application Aero Glass for Windows 8.1 is still in the stage of pre-release (version alpha), and is not available as installer. Users who want to Reactivate Transparency Aero in Windows 8.1 Using this application must dislike and manually install its contents, then make some changes in registers because the effect of Aero to take place.
How to install Aero Glass for Windows 8.1?
- Extract the content archive (which you download using the link below) in a easily accessible location and with full write access (eg c: aeroglass)
- open Registry Editor and browse to the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWindows
- then change the values of the entrances marked with red exactly as in the screenshot below:
- for string entry AppInit_DLLs the value C:AeroGlassDWMGlass.DLL (where C:AeroGlass is the location where you extract the contents of the archive)
- for dword entry LoadAppInit_DLLs the value 1
- for dword entry RequireSignedAppInit_DLLs the value 0
Careful! In case the entrances do not exist, you must create them do not change other values of other entrances!
It is recommended to create an restore point (or at least of a backup of registry) before making the above changes, for any eventuality.
