On the first day of the conference BUILD 2014 held this week in San Francisco, Microsoft they officially presented Windows 8.1 Update 1 (this update is similar to Service Packs available for previous Windows systems), and announced that this will begin to be available at download for users Windows 8.1 starting with the date of April 8.
For those who haven't already informed themselves with a look at modifications brought by Windows 8.1 Update 1, among the most important is the addition of a buton Power and of one for Search in Start Screen, Click-right menu (Context Menu) for tile sites from the Start Screen, the possibility to fixed (pin) Modern applications in Taskbar and the ability to display the Taskbar in modern applications, and adding a title bar with buttons minimize and close at the top of modern applications.
In case you want to test the new features faster and it seems too much to wait another (at least) 4 days, then we have good news for you: even if you are not abonat TechNet or MSDN, you have the opportunity to download the update directly from Microsoft servers. Note: The update files must be installed exactly in the order shown above, for the system to work correctly. Since Windows 8.1 Update 1 has not yet been officially released by Microsoft (they will most likely be available to users via Windows Update and in the Windows Store), it is recommended that before installing the update files available for download above, a restore point of the system should be performed so that one can return without problems to the previous state of their installation in case of any errors.
