Originally presented at the beginning of this year, the future browser Microsoft, known until now under the name of Project Spartan it captured the public's attention because it promises a net optimized experience compared to the old and hated one Internet Explorer. During the event BUILD 2015, Microsoft finally announced the name of the product, its logo and some additional information.

Although the old one Internet Explorer became noticeably better, starting from the tenth version, the times when browser-ele Microsoft they managed to surprise the audience long ago, and the product was condemned to a dull and always ridiculed life. Project Spartan but brought a breath of fresh air, the new display engine and interesting options promising to make it a competitive rival to the current leaders Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, and this is important for users Windows they will benefit from a high-performance default browser, safe and with good compatibility with modern Web standards.

Evolving until now under the code name Project Spartan, the future browser Microsoft now has a trade name: Edge. Not at all surprising, if we consider that the new display engine already had the name EdgeHTML, this name is also accompanied by a logo derived from that of the old man Internet Explorer, but stylized to hide the very name of the product in it. As we already know, Edge will be the default browser of Windows 10 software platform. In the first instance, Microsoft intended to implement two display engines in the framework Internet Explorer, i.e. the new one EdgeHTML and the old one mshtml.dll (Trident), but the company finally decided to retire the old product and keep it in Windows 10 just for compatibility reasons. During BUILD 2015, Microsoft did not announce much news about Edge, but the information published so far has already allowed us to get an idea. As a novelty, the company announced that the support for extensions from Edge it will allow easy migration of extensions HTML/CSS/JavaScript created for Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, but this option for expanding the software facilities will be added after reaching the development stage RTM. The second novelty is New Tab Page, which will include, in addition to the list of the most frequently accessed sites, the information provided by the digital assistant Cortana and associated applications. These two new information complement those already known, such as the use of a very simple graphical environment, superior compatibility with modern Web standards, an annotation mode that will highlight the styluses and full integration with the digital assistant Cortana.
