In March of the current year, Microsoft announced that the suite of Office 2016 applications is available for testing in the business environment, the company trying in this way to get the impressions of important customers before the launch in the second half of this year. Here, after a month and a half, Office 2016 Preview is also available for regular users who use Windows platform.
Within the Ignite conference, the manager Satya Nadella announced that the package Office 2016 Public Preview is available to all users Windows, thus being able to test, in advance, the future versions of the applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Version testing Public Preview does not require the use of a cont Office 365, but requires uninstalling the current version Office 2013 because these two application packages cannot coexist on the same system.
Among the news from Office 2016 Public Preview can be found: optimal integration with online services, the appearance of a real-time collaboration system and the appearance Smart Applications.
Office 2016 will offer the possibility of accessing a document from any other system or terminal on which the user is authenticated due to the fact that the data will be saved online by default. Those who do not want such a thing will be able to return to the traditional way of working at any time. Outlook will use this integration with the storage service OneDrive and for keeping large attachments, the recipients will only receive a Web link for downloading the files without being forced to unnecessarily clutter their local Inbox or the one on the email server. Real-time collaboration, known from Office Online or Google Docs, will make its place in the frame as well desktop applications. Users will have the possibility to inspect previous edits made by other users and will see in real time the changes that others make in the currently open file. Currently, the implementation is limited only to Word 2016, and using the function requires authentication with an Office 365 account.
Smart Applications will allow you to extend the basic functions of the applications. Two examples would be Tell Me, a new search tool, and Clutter, an announced tool that allows the intelligent organization of the email account.
