Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 ( KIS 6.0 ) / Anti-Hacker
Anti-Hacker – Protects your computer against hacker attacks which can steal your private information , install viruses on your system , or use your computer for spam attacks and other lawless activities.
Once the Proactive defense component has been configured, Setup Wizard suggests configuring the Anti-Hacker component.
Step 1: Setup Wizard collects information about installed applications that use LAN and Internet.
Step 2: on this step user can set LAN and Internet connection:
- Stealth mode.
- Network status: trusted, local or internet
Trusted network – applications are not controlled, one “allow all” rule is created. By default Stealth mode is disabled.
Local network – allow file and printer sharing, allow exchange of ICMP packages, and allow rules for packet filtering and applications. By default Stealth mode is disabled.
Internet – deny file and printer sharing, deny exchange of ICMP packages, and allow rules for packet filtering and applications. By default Stealth mode is enabled.
On this step your own network can be added, networks created within the Setup Wizard scan can be edited or deleted or scan of other networks can be enabled.
Make the necessary settings and click Next to continue configuring the Anti-Hacker component.
Step 3: on this step user can configure application rules. Kaspersky Lab experts created pre-defined list of the most common applications. Based on the list the Setup Wizard creates rules for these applications.
Click the Applications button, to change the existing Rules for applications, Rules for packet filtering, to add new rules for applications or packet rules. On the Zones tab you can view or change (if necessary) network statuses, or choose Firewall mode on the Additional tab: Maximum compatibility or Maximum speed.
DNS cache – when first addressing to the network resource computer inquires the server DNS. This DNS is located in the computer cache and by further connections to the same network source this computer resolves the server DNS from cache. This option accelerates work of the LAN or Internet but decreases the computer security level.
You can disable DNS caching, by checking Disable DNS cache.
Configure the necessary settings of the Anti-Hacker component and click Next to continue initial settings of Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0.
