From the beginning you must not be misled by this tutorial. The next method does not involve installing two dual-boot systems. I am Ubuntu si Windows 7. Also, this tutorial is also valid for Installation of ubuntu on Windows XP or Windows Vista USING VirtualBox.
1. First of all we need VirtualBox. An application that helps us install virtual operating systems, perfectly functional, on our basic system. Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista.

Download VirtualBox 3.2.6 for Windows x86/amd64
Download and install VirtualBox application.
2. Download Ubuntu Desktop Edition
Select for what architecture you want to download Ubuntu (32-bit or 64-bit) & Start download. (We tested on 32-bit)
3. After downloading the Kit of the Ubuntu distribution (ubuntu-10.04-desktop-i386.iso In our case), open virtualBox and click the button “New” To create the virtual computer for the Ubuntu operating system, then click “Next” in the next window.
4. Enter a name for your system in the box “Name”, the “Operating System” Select Linux, and at the version “Ubuntu“. Click “Next”.
5. Select how much memory (RAM) you want to allocate for the new operating system and click “Next”. Preferably to allocate between the recommended volume (512 MB) and the red area.
6. In the next window you will have to create a virtual hard disk. Check the box “Boot Hard Disk” and “Create new hard disk“. Next & Next in the next window.
7. Select “Dynamically Expanding Storage” and click Next. This option will not keep you busy on your hard disk the Virtual Hard space. It increases and will be automatically reduced, depending on how much the virtual operating system will have.
8. Create a New Virtual Disk. Choose the location you want to creati hard disk-ul virtual (.vdi) and set the maximum volume to which it can reach. Option in point 7 (Dynamically Expanding Storage) will not be able to overcome the volume set by you here.
Click Next & Finish.
To this point I created a calculator virtual prepared for Installation of Linux Ubuntu operating system.
Installation Ubuntu 10.04 Virtual on Windows 7 with the help of VirtualBox.
1. By virtualbox we click-right and click “Settings” on the created system.
2. Click pe “Storage” > we select “Empty” to IDE Controller, then click on the yellow icon of the right CD/DVD Device.
3. Click on the button “Add”, then select the .IO image of the installation kit Ubuntu 10.04.
4. After you have added the image, select the file in CD/DVD Images, then click Select.
5. Click OK in Ubuntu Settings.
6. by virtualbox select Ubuntu and Click on the Start.
From here you will have to follow the standard steps of Installation of Linux Ubuntu.
At the end of the installation you can run Ubuntu pe Windows 7.
