Lately, Microsoft tried to persuade as many users to use their own online storage service, namely SkyDrive. Although there are many who appreciate Skydrive integration and its new features in Windows 8.1 Preview, are also users who prefer to use Google Drive or Dropbox or other similar services, and who would like to delete the presence SkyDrive, at least of File Explorer (where is permanently displayed Directory for this service).
How can we delete the Skydrive folder from the Windows 8.1 File Explorer navigation panel?
- open Run (Windows + r) if you taste regedit, then click on OK
- in the open window (Registry Editor), navigate to the key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{8E74D236-7F35-4720-B138-1FED0B85EA75}ShellFolder

- Select Users From the displayed list and tick the option Full Control from below Allow (in the bottom half of the window), then click on OK
- back in Registry Editor, in the right panel below the key ShellFolder, give double-click (or click-right > Modify) on dWord entry Attributes, and change its value in 0
- then Restore the system In order for changes to have effect
And ready. folder SkyDrive will no longer be displayed in the File Explorer navigation panel Windows 8.1.
