How can we turn a computer with Windows 8/8.1 into a WiFi hotspot without using Third-Party applications
In previous systems Windows (inclusive Windows 7) users had the option to share your internet connection through one ad hoc networks only with others computers who were running Windows. To be able to share your internet connection with others wireless devices (tablets, smartphone-uri, etc), they had to install Third-Party applications that made this possible. In Windows 8/8.1 but there is one feature in-built which allows the transformation of a computer running this system into a hotspot WiFi to which any type of wireless devices can be connected.
How do we turn a Windows 8/8.1 computer into a WiFi hotspot?
All you need is one computer running Windows 8/8.1 cu adaptor wireless (if you use a desktop, you need one adaptor WiFi USB) and o Internet connection (this can be via cable, through modem USB or wireless).
- open Command Prompt with privileges of administrator (taste cmd in Start Screen, then click-right on the displayed result and select Run as administrator)
- In the open window type command netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=hotspot key=password123, where ssid it is hotspot network name that you want to create (you can replace hotspot with whatever name you want), and key it is password chosen for the hotspot created (replace password123 with whatever password you want for the hotspot)
- data Enter, then enter the command netsh wlan start hostednetwork and give again Enter
- Then go in Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center, where you will notice beside main internet connection another connection (bearing the name of your choice for the hotspot) which is listed with No network access (Virtual Local Area Connection)
- Click on connection with internet access (Ethernet, Wireless Network Connection etc), then, in the opened window, click on the button Properties
- in tab-ul Sharing, tick the option Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection, then from the drop-down menu below Home network connection Select Wirtual Local Area Connection and click on OK
- back in Network and Sharing Center you will notice that the new connection (Hotspot) has now Internet access
And that's it. after you do these SETTINGS, you will be able to connect to hotspot-ul WiFi created anything wireless device you want (of course, using Access password set for hotspot). Success!
