One of the major changes made by Windows 8 operating system was the introduction modern applications, available to users through Windows Store, these being specially created by Microsoft to be integrated into the new Graphic interface of the system. Default, all modern applications installed from Windows Store I am Update automatically, whenever new versions of them are launched. If you are a user Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 and you want to have control in terms of Updating modern applications (You may want to make updates manually, after viewing their changlog), you can disable their automatic update following the instructions below.
How do we disable the automatic updating of modern applications in Windows 8/8.1?
- open Windows Store, then open the menu Charms (Take the mouse cursor to the right-hand corner of the screen or use the key combination Windows + C)
- in Charms, click on Settings, then on the option App Updates
- On the right side you will notice the option Automatically update my apps, which is activated in default mode; Use the Switch available below it to disable it
After you make this change, each time you want to check what Modern applications have updates, also in App Updates Click the button Check for updates (a one will be displayed list cu the available updates, where you can choose what applications you want to update). Success!
