One noun the operating systems Windows Vista and Windows 7, it is Windows Desktop Gadgets. This application (feature) of Windows 7 allows us to bring on Desktop (Workspace) different applications: RSS Reader, Picture Slideshow, Notes, Weather, CPU Meter, Network Speed Indicator and many more.
The activation of gadgets on the desktop is done with only two, three clicks. We click-right on the desktop, click on Gadgets and from the panel that opens we choose what gadgetWe want to run. If we are not satisfied with the gadgets installed default, we can go on Desktop Gadgets Gallery from where we can download the what interests us.
For users who are not desktop gadgets fans, this Windows 7 feature does nothing but consume system resources. Few, but… consume.
How we uninstall Windows 7 Desktop Gadgets.
1. First of all we have to go in Start Menu > and the bar “search programes and files” Let's type “feature“. In the search list we click on Turn Windows features on or off.
2. In the list of Windows Features We are looking for and wearing the box of the right Windows Gadget Platform.
3. We press “OK” And we continue the uninstall process of Windows Desktop Gadgets. At the end of the uninstall process we restart the PC.
After Restart we will notice that Windows Destop Gadgets is no longer present in Desktop Context Menu.
To reinstall the gadgets platform is very simple. Follow the steps above and tick the box next Windows Gadget Platform.
