One of the the new features present in Windows 8/8.1 is si File History, feature that many users of this operating system I overlook it, most likely due to the fact that this is disabled in default mode.
To access File History You can either open Control Panel (taste control.exe in Run And give Enter) then click on File History, either to tab file history direct in Search-ul FROM Start Screen.

Because the button Turn On for File History become accessible, click on the link Select Drive from the left panel and select the drive you want to be saved backups made by this feature. Here you can select for backup either one drive local (integrated into the computer), either a external media device (for example USB Stick or a hard extern connected to PC), either a Drive from the network (If you have your computer connected to a local network).

After selecting the drive you want to save backup-urile File History, click on Turn On.

The feature will start saving immediately snapshot-uri/backup-uri but FILES FROM Libraries (both default, like Documents, Pictures, Music and Videos, as well as those created by the user), Desktop, Contact and Favorites, these being kept according to the preferences of the users. Also, if you do not want File History to make backups for files in one of the folders listed above, click on the link Exclude folders.

Then click on Advanced Settings to set How often the snapshots are saved to your files, how big to be cache-ul offline for these and what is the length of the period in which these snapshots/backups are kept.

Note: If you worry that the File History backups did not start automatically after activating the feature, click on the Run Now Link below the selected drive to save backups.
