One of the major changes in Windows 8 is the elimination of some Aero effect, like Aero Glass or disabling others (with the possibility of reactivation), such as Aero Peek. Other aero effects that we have been used to since Windows 7, for example Aero Snap (automatic maximization of a window when it is dragged to the top, left and right edges of the screen) or Aero Shake (bringing a window to the foreground/focus when it is "shaken") survived in Windows 8 as well.
Cum Aero Glass was totally eliminated, it can only be "reanimated". partial and only with the help of some Third-Party applications, for example Aero8Tuner. But those who feel the lack of effect Aero Peek (in Windows 7 users can view the desktop through the active windows, without having to minimize them – they become transparent when the mouse is moved over the button Show desktop, located in the lower-right corner of the screen, next to the date), will probably be happy to know that this was only disabled, and can be brought back to life at any time.

How can we reactivate Aero Peek in Windows 8?
- Click-right on Taskbar and select Properties
- in the opened window, check the option Use Peek to previwe the desktop when you move your mouse to the show desktop button at the end of the taskbar

- Then click on Apply and OK
Another, simpler method of a activa Aero Peek in Windows 8 is to right-click on the button Show desktop and to select Peek at desktop.

We can just as easily deactivam Aero Peek, following the same steps described above (in both methods).
