Exista numeroase situatii in care utilizatorul este interesat de gasirea aparitiilor unui anumit cuvant sau a unei succesiuni de caractere si eventual de inlocuirea lor cu un alt cuvant sau succesiune de caractere. Comanda Find of the menu Edit permite cautarea unui anumit text specificat de catre utilizator si pozitionarea cursorului de editare pe acel text, in cadrul documentului.
In urma lansarii in executie a acestei comenzi se va afisa fereastra de dialog Find and Replace: Semnificatia campurilor ferestrei Find and Replace:
- the field Find What – permite specificarea textului care urmează a fi cautat;
- the button Find Next – cautarea urmatoarei aparitii in document a textului specificat;
- the button More – extinderea ferestrei de dialog prin adaugarea urmatoarelor campuri:
- Search – specificarea portiunii din document (domain) in which the text entered in the field will be searched Find What: All (the whole document), Up (from the position of the insertion cursor towards the beginning of the document), Down (from the position of the cursor until the end of the document);
- SWITCH Match Case – whether or not the differentiation between the upper and small letters is achieved;
- SWITCH Find Whole Words Only – Only the whole words are sought without taking into account the words that contain the text inside them;
- SWITCH Use Wildcards – the use of characters with special significance in search;
- SWITCH Sounds Like – Search all similar character strings (phonetically) with that specified in the field Find What. It uses the lexicon of English, so it is not recommended for texts in Romanian;
- list Format – se poate specifica formatul fontului si/sau paragrafelor dupa care sa se realizeze cautarea;
- list Special – permite cautarea unor caractere speciale (care vor fi introduse in campul Find What: caracter de sfarsit de paragraf, TAB etc.) sau a altor elemente (note de subsol, de sfarsit etc.).
- activand bifa Highlight all items found in – cuvintele cautate vor fi scoase in evidenta.
Selectarea paginii Replace conduce la lansarea In executie a funcţiei Replace, cu retinerea informatiilor specificate in fereastra de dialog Find and Replace. Functia Replace se poate activa si independent, prin intermediul comenzii cu acelasi nume din meniul Edit si este foarte asemanatoare cu functia Find. Diferenta consta in faptul ca dupa gasirea textului cautat acesta poate fi inlocuit automat cu un text specificat in campul Replace With al ferestrei de dialog Find and Replace. The replacement can be done for the current appearance (the button Replace) or for all the appearances in the document (the button Replace All). Current appearance can be ignored with the button Find Next, and the entire operation can be canceled with the button Cancel or by closing the dialog window Find and Replace.
Selectarea paginii Go To from the dialog window Find and Replace or launch in execution of the order with the same name within the menu Edit Ensures the automatic movement of the cursor in the document on the positions specified by a number of page, section or line, book or commentary, header or basement, at a table, graph, equation or other object. A bookmark It allows the user to quickly find certain portions of text. The insertion of a book sign is achieved through the order Bookmark of the menu Insert. After entering the book sign name (Bookmark Name), the button will be operated Add All the dialog window Bookmark. The button Delete of the same window allows to delete a selected book sign. Book signs can be sorted by name or their position in the text according to the field validation Sort By from the dialog window Bookmark. A comment can be introduced in the current position of the insertion cursor by choosing the option Comment from the menu Insert. At the bottom of the document window opens a window that allows editing the text of the comment, changing the comment name (he receives an default name), entering a sound comment (button Insert Sound Object) and specifying the one who made the comment (hidden list Comments from).
